Data Use Workshop for PMA2020 kicks off

March 5, 2018.ICRHK has today begun a two day data use workshop for PMA2020 project at Maanzoni lodge, Machakos County. The purpose of the workshop is to build the capacity of participants by providing them with an opportunity for hands on exercise in handling PMA2020/Kenya data lab.

The workshop also aims to give the participants a better understanding of how PMA2020/Kenya data relates with other existing data to inform policy and programs on key family planning issues in Kenya.

The workshop is being facilitated by ICRHK staff led by the Country Director, Prof. Peter Gichangi. The participants are drawn from key NGO partners, donors and the Ministry of Health from the counties of Kitui, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kiambu and Nairobi.

The next PMA2020 data use workshop will be held on March 7th – 8th, 2018 in Eldoret town.

PMA2020 uses innovative mobile technology to support low-cost, rapid-turnaround surveys monitoring key indicators for family planning, water, sanitation and hygiene and other health and development indicators across 11 countries. ICRHK is the implementing organization in Kenya. The project is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health.
